Al Foreman
Al Foreman has been a respected figure in Vancouver’s music scene for over five decades. His journey began in the early 1960s, performing in high school bands before joining Little Daddy and the Bachelors, which featured Tommy Chong on guitar. His professional career took off in 1968 when he joined the Night Train Revue, a nine-piece R&B band that toured extensively across the U.S. and Canada. Over the years, Al’s talents expanded beyond keyboard and harmonica to include singing, composing, and arranging. In 1972, he co-founded Scrubbaloe Caine, achieving national airplay with his compositions, and later co-wrote the hit I Wonder What You’re Doin’ Tonight, which earned him a SOCAN Certificate of Honour.
Beyond performance, Al pursued music education, earning a Bachelor of Music Therapy and enjoying a 15-year career in the field. His passion for blues never faded, leading to his return to the stage with Reflections in Blue, an autobiographical concert, and New Orleans Gumbo, a tribute to Louisiana rhythm and blues. Both projects have been met with sold-out performances, marking a celebrated resurgence in his career. As Al himself says, he has no plans to “hang up his rock and roll shoes” anytime soon.
