ShowHub is a free, ad-free community service built, curated, and managed by two locals who care deeply about our music scene. We created this platform to make it easy for people to discover who’s playing, where they’re performing, and what’s happening across small-to-mid-size venues and community events. Our artist and venue directories also help working musicians and venues stay connected and visible.
The two of us (Jen and Cliff) run ShowHub ourselves. This summer, we also brought on our part-time Music Journalist, Luc, to double as a data wrangler when life takes one of us off duty. That’s the entire team that brings you over 600 show listings in an average month.
While we received generous support from Creative BC in 2025 and 2026, that funding supported promotion of the platform and specific project expenses. It does not fund ShowHub’s ongoing operations. Those expenses are otherwise covered personally, including:
- Transportation and venue expenses associated with our necessary outreach
- Accounting and legal fees, hosting, and required software subscriptions
- Paid advertising in support of the shows, artists, and venues listed here
We would not have had summer listings for 2026 without Luc, and we’d really love some support to help us keep him on board – both to help keep the listings coming, as it’s a lot for just two people – and to continue the fantastic editorial work you can find in our news section.
We’ve also put thousands of hours into development, content gathering, checking, correction and entry, along with the seemingly endless administrative work that goes with it.
More importantly, none of the shows on this site are gathered through automation. Every show is sourced and entered by one of us. Why? Because the majority of shows we list cannot be scraped. They’re hidden in images on social media, websites without dedicated calendars, artists’ monthly gig lists, emails, and random Facebook events.
We don’t get paid for that work. Any funds that come in from contributions or ticketed listing fees go directly toward the costs associated with running ShowHub.

Our custom share images stand out in crowded feeds and give artists and venues a clean, accessible way to promote their events.
Musicians can also support ShowHub by adding their ShowHub profile link to their website. Also, mentioning ShowHub from the stage when encouraging people to follow their upcoming shows helps raise awareness.

It also helps when artists can connect us to their venue contacts or bookers. We sometimes struggle to get replies, and a simple connection can make a big difference in keeping listings accurate and up to date.
