ShowHub is dedicated to supporting small venues and live music artists, with a focus on genres such as roots, blues, folk, soul, R&B, and country — along with select local cover bands. We are launching in Vancouver and the surrounding areas, including North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and Burnaby.
The idea stemmed from a common challenge: many smaller venues struggle to keep their websites updated, leaving potential audiences unaware of the great live performances happening right in their neighbourhoods. A centralized hub where music lovers can discover local events or track where their favourite bands are playing feels like a much-needed solution.
While social media platforms have attempted to fill this gap, they often fall short. Posts quickly get buried under ads and other content, making it difficult to keep track of event information. Once a post disappears from view, finding it again can be nearly impossible.
That’s why we created ShowHub. We’re starting with small-to-medium-sized venues in this core area and plan to expand as interest grows. To make the platform sustainable, we aim to cover costs through government grants, limited sponsorship opportunities, and special promotional placements for venues or concerts. This will allow us to continue offering a free space for promoting live music events, including performances outside the listed venues. Most importantly, ShowHub will not be an ad-driven site.
This service is designed to be accessible, with our website built to adhere as closely to WCAG guidelines as possible. While full compliance may not always be achievable, we are committed to meeting the highest standards wherever we can. Our goal is to create a space where everyone can easily access this information, recognizing that accessibility is often neglected on the web.
