Jim Meyer

Jim Meyer is a Vancouver-based composer, Chapman Stick player and recording artist.  Jim has performed from Spain to Australia, performing a mix of original instrumental music and familiar covers.  Jim is a fixture in the Vancouver music scene, and host of Stick Camp Canada – an annual event for learning and performing on the Chapman Stick, now in its 23rd year.

The Chapman Stick has strings and frets like a guitar, but is played with a 2-handed tapping technique: the left hand taps on 6 bass strings while the right hand taps on a separate set of 6 guitar strings, allowing a performer to play melody and bass parts simultaneously.
