Johnny & the Walkers
Fabio Walker began his musical journey as the lead singer of Reign in 1999, later picking up the bass guitar in 2002. In 2006, he teamed up with John Samulski to form Johnny and the Walkers, and after 22,387 Rock Juices, the band is still rolling. A lifelong Beatles fanatic, Fabio dreams of growing up to be Paul McCartney—though some say he’s already halfway there.
John Samulski, better known as “Johnny,” has been the backbone of JATW since its inception. A veteran of projects spanning from Toronto to Edmonton and British Columbia, he’s played in bands like The Mohabs, Section 69, and Les MISARabbles. His 2009 instrumental album Weekend Wires achieved the rare feat of selling exactly one copy. An unrepentant metalhead, John continues his lifelong struggle with Guitar Acquisition Syndrome.
Steve Watkins, known as “Lanny,” began performing at 16 in the genre-hopping band Directionless—a fitting name given his eclectic musical path. He co-founded Montego Shine and later joined Details in the ’80s before the band imploded on tour, leaving him to a solo career in his living room. When no one was paying attention in 2011, he slipped into JATW and has been there ever since. Influenced by Roy Bittan, Greg Phillinganes, and Bruce Hornsby, Steve enjoys music almost as much as chocolate sauce on ice cream.
Beau Henderson started drumming in the womb, arriving ahead of schedule and immediately taking up the family tradition of hitting things with sticks. After stints in Gemini and Details, he became a sought-after freelancer across Vancouver before claiming the drum throne in JATW. When not keeping the beat, Beau splits his time between Gambier Island, Whistler, and his Lower Mainland estate, where he indulges in vintage Batman comics.
