Lone Bear is one of Vancouver’s boldest and most unpredictable instrumental trios — equal parts groove, grit, and off-the-leash creativity.

With guitarist Jeff Younger, bassist Russell Sholberg, and drummer Bernie Arai, this original lineup dives headfirst into a genre-defying set that blends heavy rhythm, melodic beauty, and wide-open improvisation.

Their live sets twist familiar tunes by The Temptations, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Beatles into something entirely new — like classic rock reimagined in a free jazz fever dream. You might even catch a few of Younger’s own compositions along the way.
