Marin Patenaude
Marin Patenaude weaves together the raw energy of urban life with the rolling landscapes of country folk, creating music that is both raucous and deeply intimate. Her voice—layered, expressive, and rooted in wildness—carries a strength that mirrors her artistic spirit.
Raised in rural Horsefly, BC, Marin comes from a rich musical lineage. The younger sister of Juno Award-winner Pharis Romero (of Pharis and Jason Romero), she grew up harmonizing in a family folk and country band. A versatile musician and accomplished vocalist, she is also a member of the progressive rock-jazz ensemble Pugs and Crows.
Her latest album, influenced by Neil Young’s Crazy Horse and Tori Amos, delivers confessional folk-rock infused with raw lyricism, rich harmonies, and an unyielding, old-school grit.
