Mela & The Mockingbird

RANDY SWALLOW hails from the musical hot-bed of Halifax. The dynamic, blues-driven guitar tunes are crafty like pop tunes and soulful like American blues. You may hear the hint of Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Police influences, though Swallow’s fresh approach to rock songwriting has a gutsy fire that’s uniquely his own and worth diving into. The Mocking Bird is MELANIE DEKKER, who will trade off tunes with SWALLOW. She is a spirited songwriter and while on tour in Europe headlines read “Canada’s Voice Like Chocolate’.  Her last three albums were released in a quick 5 years and include “SECRET SPOT”(Supported by Creative BC & The Gov’t of BC), “BARNSTORMER – Take One” (A roaring 20’s project), and” THE NEW OLD FASHIONED WAY” (Yup, a Christmas Album). Melanie has been the support act for Bryan Adams, Russell Peters, Faith Hill & Chaka Khan, and she’s headlined festivals in Germany, Denmark & Estonia too.
