The Shorties are a contemporary folk trio based in Vancouver, BC, blending influences from jazz, R&B, and folk into rich harmonies and heartfelt songwriting.

Cindy Dai, Kaya Kurz, and Sydney Tough met while studying music at Capilano University and quickly connected over jam sessions, late-night conversations, and a mutual love for Joni Mitchell.

Their debut album, In Every Season, arrives June 5, 2025. The 12-track release explores themes of nostalgia, mental health, self-compassion, friendship, and hope — offering honest reflections wrapped in tender, melodic arrangements.

Listening to The Shorties feels like a quiet conversation with a close friend — full of empathy, warmth, and the reminder that you’re not alone.
