Tom Lavin was born in Chicago, where he cut his teeth playing with local bands and blues legends. After relocating to Vancouver, he established himself as a sought-after studio musician, songwriter, bandleader, record producer, and film composer.

He’s earned multiple BCMIA awards — including Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter, and Producer of the Year — as well as a Juno Award for Best New Band and a W.C. Handy Blues Award. His production and playing credits include over a dozen gold and platinum records, working with artists like Powder Blues, Prism, April Wine, Long John Baldry, Amos Garrett, and many more.
