The Bad Pennies

The Bad Pennies formed in Vancouver, BC, in 2022 when guitarist/vocalist Jeff Baker and bassist Mark Milner began jamming at Pandora’s Box rehearsal studios. In early 2023, drummer Jim Reid joined the lineup, and the band quickly gained momentum by competing in the BC Blues Challenge. Their performance earned them an invitation from the Fraser Valley Blues Society to represent British Columbia at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, where they played iconic Beale Street venues like the Rum Boogie Café.

Following their return from Memphis, the band expanded with the addition of guitarist, vocalist, and percussionist Francisco Bonilla from Mexico City. In August 2024, Jim Reid departed, and Guenter Schulz took over on drums. The Bad Pennies have built a strong presence in the local music scene, performing at venues such as The Blarney Stone, The Princeton, and Lana Lou’s in Vancouver, as well as pubs and clubs throughout the Lower Mainland. With their evolving lineup and dynamic blues-driven sound, The Bad Pennies are quickly becoming a must-see act on the West Coast.
