Charles Johnson is a Richmond, BC–based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with over three decades of live performance experience. Equally at home with rock, folk, country, jazz, and R&B, Charles performs a wide mix of covers and original material, both as a solo artist and with bands — from intimate clubs to major venues.

Originally from Ferrum, Virginia, he began his musical journey playing banjo in his father’s bluegrass band before moving into R&B, dance, and rock projects in his teens. Charles has fronted Virginia-based bands TK-421 and Bananas At Large, and toured internationally as a guitarist with Grammy-nominated jazz artist Najee, performing alongside a range of world-class musicians.

His influences span genres, from Al Green and Bob Marley to Chris Cornell, and his live shows reflect that same diversity and soul.
