With roots in Vancouver’s indie scene of the early 1980s, Doug Andrew has built a reputation as a distinctive Canadian songwriter known for his darkly witty, story-driven lyrics. He’s shared the stage with acts as diverse as The Ramones, The Replacements, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, and Raffi, and continues to craft songs that blend raw energy with rich lyrical detail.

Andrew leads The Circus In Flames, a band described as a “weird mix of musical eclecticism built on a dark folklore.” Longtime collaborators Brian Barr (electric guitar) and Ed Goodine (drums) are joined by bassist Duncan Chambers and violinist Kenyon Alexander, rounding out a lineup that delivers gritty, genre-bending performances. Since their start in the mid-90s, the band has toured across Canada, played numerous festivals, and earned critical acclaim for their compelling live shows and recordings.
