The Contingency
The Contingency is a Vancouver-based acoustic ensemble rooted in folk and roots traditions, with influences of blues, bluegrass, country, and classic rock. With four core members on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, and vocals, they occasionally bring in bass, drums, or electric guitar.
Formed through open-mic nights in Vancouver and Port Moody, the band evolved from spontaneous late-night jams into a dedicated group. Since then, they have toured Prince Edward Island and performed at venues across the Lower Mainland and Sunshine Coast, including The Princeton Pub, The Brighton Pub, Smuggler’s Trail Brewery, and more.
