Daniel Lew
Daniel Lew is a singer-songwriter dedicated to uplifting the world through music. A sudden loss of hearing in his left ear and the onset of tinnitus a decade ago reshaped his path, leading him to pursue a career in music. Described by Pancouver Magazine as “folk music writ large with electrifying vocals,” his sound blends the styles of Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson, and Chris Cornell, complemented by innovative guitar work and dynamic live looping. His introspective songwriting is marked by honesty and depth.
With four albums released, Daniel has toured Canada, showcased in Asia, and been featured by CBC Radio One, CTV News, Nashville Music Mecca, Exclaim!, Indie Shuffle, and the South China Morning Post. His live performances have drawn recognition from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Jacob Collier, and Dan Mangan.
In 2023, Daniel received the Creative BC Career Development Grant for his album Destiny, a project that highlights underrepresented Asian-Canadian creatives through collaboration and storytelling.
