Meet Deborah Carter, 

Jazz and R&B Singer

Deborah Carter is spreading her wings into jazz and couldn’t love it more.

A familiar face on Vancouver stages for many years, Deborah continues to perform regularly with the R&B Conspiracy, a band that got its start on the North Shore in the 90’s!  and still knows how to rock a crowd. More recently, you can find her singing alongside Gabriel Mark Hasselbach and friends during Sunday afternoon sessions at the Admiral Pub.

A versatile vocalist, Deborah can channel the soulful power of Aretha Franklin and Gladys Night one moment and deliver a heartfelt ballad the next. She is embracing this softer, more playful side of her voice and thoroughly enjoying the musical journey that jazz invites.

When she’s not performing, Deborah is the co-owner of Grow Speech and Language Therapy, where her passion for voice, language, and people shines through every day. Working with children gives her plenty of opportunities to use her voice, and she never passes up the chance for a good nursery rhyme.

Over the years, Deborah has performed at numerous local events and venues, including The Shipyards, North Van Live & Local, and, most recently, one of her proudest musical moments, performing at Frankie’s Jazz Club.

Whether she’s singing jazz, soul, R&B, country-folk, or timeless classics, Deborah brings warmth, joy, authenticity, and a genuine love of connection to every performance. 🎶✨
