Evan Kennedy
Evan Kennedy is a Vancouver-based folk/rock singer-songwriter whose music reflects a positive, life-affirming spirit rooted in love, friendship, and everyday joy. A third-generation musician, Evan draws inspiration from a deep family legacy—his father, Gary, is a longtime blues/rock percussionist, and his grandfather, Edwin, was a blind folk/blues harmonica player who shared stages with legends like Sonny Terry and Charlie Musselwhite. With a sound shaped by folk, blues, rock, and a touch of country, Evan’s songwriting blends heartfelt lyrics with a timeless musical sensibility.
Evan has released two solo-acoustic albums, Rollin’ and Vol. 2, both recorded in collaboration with his father and sister. His work has earned local acclaim, including top-20 recognition in The Shore 104.3 FM’s Sounds of Summer contest and strong airplay for his early songs with The Sicks, a band he fronted in the late 2000s. Today, Evan performs across British Columbia, delivering intimate live sets that mix his original material with select covers. His music channels the warmth of family, the storytelling of folk tradition, and the energy of the West Coast scene.
