Hrothgar Jackson
Hrothgar Jackson is an alt-country singer-songwriter known for heartfelt, lyrically rich songs exploring themes of heartache, longing, and regret, with a slacker edge and a sharp sense of irony. Performing both solo and with the Hrothgar Jackson Band—a trio featuring Adrian Popple (bass, guitar, vocals) and Doug Quiring (drums, vocals)—he brings original material by songwriter Rodger Cove to life. His collection, Hrothgar Jackson’s Songbook, Vol. 1: Infidel and Other Lyrics, showcases 52 tracks from his repertoire. A familiar face at open mics in Vancouver and Mayne Island, Hrothgar has recently performed with his band at pubs, lounges, and Vancouver’s Performing Arts Lodge Studio Theatre, where a live set of 24 original songs was recorded for an upcoming video series.
