Jack Garton
Jack Garton has been captivating audiences across British Columbia for years as both a musician and theater artist. His music blends folk and roots with the energetic charm of rockabilly and doo-wop, influences that shaped his early musical journey. Performing solo and with various bands and theatre productions across North America and Europe, he recently performed in the Firehall Arts Centre’s production of Chelsea Hotel: The Songs of Leonard Cohen at the Firehall Arts Centre (Feb 2024). Since recording a new album with Vancouver surf legends Kitty and the Rooster, released in December 2023, Jack continues to bring his strong, honest, and heartfelt songwriting to audiences everywhere.
A versatile multi-instrumentalist, Jack has spent 16 years collaborating with Western Canadian roots bands such as Petunia and the Vipers, Blue Moon Marquee, Maria in the Shower, and The Burying Ground, showcasing his unique combination of trumpet and accordion. Since 2013, he has also carved out a successful solo career, releasing two critically acclaimed albums and performing up to 90 shows a year. Having honed his craft under the mentorship of folk legends Dan Bern and Geoff Berner, Jack’s songwriting has been praised for its wit, storytelling, and poetic depth. His upcoming album, Original Skin, is set to further cement his reputation as a distinctive voice in the folk and roots music scene.
