Bobby Mongoose

From the riverbanks of the mighty Fraser, Bobby Mongoose laid down his axe nearly 25 years ago—only to rejoin the Rats in 2022. Charisma is his defining trait (just ask him). Some might say it’s talent—but they’d be wrong. It’s charm, good looks, and a healthy dose of humility. One thing’s for sure: it’s not his guitar playing. As of November 22, 2024, he’d also like fans to know he’s made peace with his hero, Bruce Springsteen.

Jesse Dramer

When he’s not at the lake or juggling other music projects, Jesse is often spotted roaming the Ridge, dreaming up oddball covers and missing family birthdays. Despite the chaos, Jesse is genuinely the nicest guy you’ll meet. If he locks eyes on you, be warned—he might just hypnotize you with his tender, syrupy vocals. Think Biggie, but white. With a goatee. Except currently, no goatee.

Jeremy Deutsch

Originally known for his work behind the kit, Jeremy “The Accountant” Deutsch has traded in spreadsheets for strings—four and six of them. Always pushing the Rats to stretch their musical chops, Jeremy brings that same rigour to his own playing. He keeps the band sharp and makes sure everyone gets their fair share of the cheese.

Splinter The Rat

Splinter is a newcomer to musicianship, picking up the drums during the pandemic by teaching himself online. After a year of self-guided practice, he began taking formal lessons to hone his skills. What started as a hobby to pass the time (and annoy the neighbours) has become a more serious—and expensive—pursuit. He’s now taken his playing from the basement to the stage, and is excited to join the Magic Rats on his live performance journey.
