Matthew Presidente, Vancouver’s piano man, is a bold rock/pop songwriter known for his high-energy, piano-driven performances. Whether solo or with his full band, his passionate connection with the audience is undeniable.

Praised by Xtra Magazine (Vancouver) as “one of — if not ­— the best singer/songwriters our LGBT scene has,” Matthew made the leap to full-time music in 2022. Since then, he has been recording new music, touring BC, and even received a Creative BC Career Development grant to fund a new recording. In 2023/24 he performed over 200 shows, including notable venues The Fox, The Rickshaw, Guilt & Co, The Shipyards and The Hollywood. His work has also been celebrated on Pride stages across BC and Alberta, and he co-wrote and performed a musical for Kelowna Fringe alongside drag artist Toddy.



With songs speaking of life changes, queer empowerment and personal evolution, his latest album, Chosen Sun (Jan 2025), is making waves in Vancouver with its fresh take on queer piano-rock – further establishing him as a standout voice in the music scene.
