
Mike Henry & The Odd Trio
Mike Henry was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he developed his powerful, soulful voice performing with the vocal group the Gospel Ambassadors. In the 1980s, he moved to Las Vegas, performing in hotel clubs and touring in Atlantic City, Reno, and Lake Tahoe. He later relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked the R&B and funk club circuit.
In 1989, Mike moved to Vancouver to join the band Stripes, touring Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. He later embarked on a solo career, performing across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. In 1997, he met Dan Casavant in Vancouver, and together they formed the Big Dawg Band.
Known for his dynamic and soulful performances, Mike has made a name for himself in Vancouver’s music scene. The influences of Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, and many others live on in both his heart and his voice.
