Mimosa
Mimosa is a bilingual Vancouver-based quintet blending jazz, Brazilian samba, French chanson, and cabaret into a unique and vibrant sound. Known for their melodic compositions, inventive arrangements, and dynamic performances, they’ve become a staple at festivals across Canada and favourites on CBC, with features in multiple documentaries and special broadcasts.
Led by pianist and composer Anna Lumiere, the band’s music has been featured in film and television and recognized with awards. Their fourth album, Bien ensemble, was released in March 2024 on Cellar Music to mark their 25th anniversary. Mimosa’s lineup includes Rebecca Shoichet (vocals), Anna Lumiere (piano/accordion), Karen Graves (sax/flute/vocals), Conrad Good (bass), and Bernie Arai (drums). Together, they deliver a rich, genre-blending musical experience that continues to evolve and inspire.
