Olaf de Shield is a seasoned Vancouver-based guitarist, vocalist, and arranger with deep roots in Soul, R&B, Jazz, and Blues. With decades of experience performing and recording alongside both local and international artists, Olaf has become a respected presence in the West Coast music scene.

He regularly performs with top Vancouver acts including Billy Dixon’s Soul Train Express, Sibel Thrasher, Gabriel Mark Hasselbach, Soultrax, Jayleen Stonehouse, Hugh Fraser, and more — appearing at venues such as The Fairview, Federico’s, Pat’s Pub, and Frankie’s Jazz Club.

Olaf also works as a solo artist and in various formats including a pop duo and his own band, The Grooveline, blending Pop, Motown, Blues, and Jazz with his signature style.
