Delivering original and hummable pop songs that feature both anxious and amusing lyrics, Paranoid Romantic knows their way around a taut, catchy arrangement. The band has been delighting audiences in Greater Vancouver and on Vancouver Island since late 2018, and is influenced in equal measure by rock‘n’roll, punk rock, post-punk, and the odd show tune.

This second release from the band – the first as a trio – contains five songs recorded at Vancouver’s House of Pain studios in late 2024/early 2025. The songs provide listeners with a compelling snapshot of the band’s tight sound, which is often compared to The Pixies, Nirvana, Cake, and QOTSA. Post-show audience feedback includes, “you remind me of so many of my favourite bands…”, and “thanks for being so entertaining and for making me laugh out loud…”.

Paranoid Romantic have recently shared stages with Seattle legends Loud Motor, and with popular Vancouver-based acts, The Furniture, The Get Arounds, and Hotel Empress, and will be headlining the Summer Solstice Sizzler at the Waldorf Hotel in June. Presently, the band is preparing a Summer/Fall 2025 Western Canadian tour.
