Pat Axe Band
Pat began playing guitar at 14, studying at a neighborhood music store before focusing on roots music and refining his skills under Eugene Martynec at Ring Music. His influences include The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers, Santana, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams.
In the late 1970s, he busked on Toronto’s Yonge Street before joining the reggae band Burning Desire in 1981, which led to 2 Pulse 3, a reggae/rock/ska band focused on original music. Over time, blues became a dominant influence, and he became a staple in Southern Ontario’s live music scene, playing at venues like the Horseshoe Tavern, El Mocambo, and Rivoli.
Later, he joined SingSing with Crash Morgan, performing throughout Toronto and showcasing at the Black Music Association, where they were inducted as honorary members by RZee Jackson. His career reflects a deep commitment to musical diversity and a passion for live performance.
