Phil Puxley

Artist Website

Phil Puxley is known for his captivating originals and outrageous pop-rock mashups, all juiced up with a bluegrass twist.

Originally from Québec and based in Vancouver, BC since the mid-2000s, Puxley is a cross-genre singer-songwriter who blends bluegrass, country, folk, and rock on banjo and guitar, while also layering live instrumental tracks into bass-driven funk, house, and drum & bass EDM.

His musical journey took a pivotal turn in 2013 after a two-year period of soul-searching, when he committed fully to pursuing music and began performing at every opportunity. After winning two Vancouver battle-of-the-bands competitions, he found his way into the country music circuit, sparked by a chance campfire meeting with country artist Chris Buck.

Since then, Puxley has become a four-time BCCMA Banjo Player of the Year and has contributed to numerous Canadian country radio Top 40 hits. In 2022, he released his debut single, The Hole in the Mountain, marking a new chapter in his career.

Today, his music captures a spirit of adventure and a love of good times. He continues to perform both solo and with his band, Phil Puxley & The Truth, backed by some of his closest friends.
