Pressley Murillo
Pressley Murillo is a Vancouver-based Mexican-American vocalist and bandleader currently in her fourth year of the Jazz Studies program at Capilano University. With a deep love and respect for the tradition of Black American Classical Music, she draws inspiration from legendary jazz artists like Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter, as well as Latinx icons such as Celia Cruz and Chavela Vargas — influences rooted in her upbringing in Southern California.
You can find her performing across Vancouver at venues including Frankie’s Jazz Club, The Fairmont Hotel, Water St. Café, and Is That French?, where she shares her passion for the Great American Songbook alongside the Latinx songs of her childhood.
