Since forming in 2017, Canadian band Savonarola have been crafting a distinctive blend of alternative rock and psychedelia with effortless chemistry. Within their first year together, the group had already written seven striking tracks — a testament to their creative drive and cohesion.

Their approach to songwriting is guided by a clear vision: “Our mandate is to always write something that sounds familiar or is influenced by a particular songwriter or genre, and then alter it in a unique way.” That philosophy runs through all of their work — from the critically acclaimed single Might Be Bad to their 2020 EP Dishordant and their most recent release, Ash.

Savonarola have brought their sound to stages across Vancouver, including the Railway Club, the Fox Cabaret, and the Roxy. With songs like Ash, they continue to carve out their own space in the Canadian rock scene — innovative, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore.
