Seb Chamney is a jazz and contemporary guitarist based in Vancouver, B.C., known for his creative rhythmic phrasing and harmonic inventiveness. A graduate of Vancouver Community College’s Bachelor of Applied Music program, Seb studied under Daryll Jahnke and Stephen Fisk, refining his improvisational skills and deepening his understanding of jazz harmony. He also immersed himself in the music of Charlie Parker, Bill Evans, Jim Hall, Paul Desmond, and Pat Metheny, transcribing their solos to further shape his musical voice. Over the years, Seb has performed at a variety of venues, including The Libra Room, The Railway Club, and The Orpheum.

After completing his studies, Seb continued to expand his musical approach, exploring odd-note rhythms and triadic tension to bring a modern voice to the jazz tradition. Active across Vancouver’s diverse music scene, he has collaborated with musicians from a range of genres including jazz, funk, rock, and Latin. Whether performing solo or as part of an ensemble, Seb brings focus, creativity, and a strong sense of musical support to every performance.
