SHAG the Band formed as a post-lockdown celebration of live party music for those looking for something different from the usual bar bands.  

Blending a glam rock aesthetic with a dynamic party rock range of beloved but underplayed dance songs, SHAG the Band is dedicated to bringing a great positive party energy whenever it plays.

SHAG has played venues such as the Commodore Ballroom, Rickshaw Theatre, Roxy Cabaret, Wise Hall, Anza Club, LanaLou’s as well as private events around the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.  SHAG is proud to have particapted in various fundraising events, private parties, and sold out self-produced events at the WISE HALL and THE FREAKERS’ BALL at the ANZA CLUB.  

Winners of the 2024 Battle of the Bar Bands at the Commodore Ballroom and 2025 Battle of the Bar Bands at the Da Vinci Centre in Victoria, SHAG encourages partiers to dress up and enjoy dancing to songs spanning the 1960’s to 2020’s.
