The Whiskeydicks
The Whiskeydicks are Celtic-World-Party-Folk-Rockers who blend fiery fiddle, bold brass, driving rhythms, and a raucous sense of humour into a high-energy sound all their own. With inventive takes on classics and originals that celebrate good times, their live shows are unforgettable — both musically and theatrically.
Formed while busking outside a Vancouver liquor store during music school, The Whiskeydicks have since brought their eclectic sound to major festivals across North America and Australia, including the Woodford Folk Festival, Galway Bay Irish Music Festival, Celtic Fest Vancouver, and ScotFest BC. They’ve toured from Hawaii to Chicago, recorded four studio albums, and released a live album recorded atop the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, BC.
In 2023, they received a Canada Council for the Arts grant to stage their original “boozical,” Trials and Tribulations of Whiskeydick, to four sold-out performances — featuring live music, actors, and dancers, with a script by band member Kyle Axford. An expanded version is in the works.
As Exclaim! Magazine puts it: “If Gogol Bordello and the Corb Lund Band got drunk, hooked up and then nine months later popped out a little whippersnapper, that baby would probably be The Whiskeydicks.”
