Artist Website

Vox Rea is a Canadian indie-pop project led by sisters Kate and Lauren Kurdyak. Known for their cinematic sound and introspective lyricism, the band fuses philosophical themes with richly textured dream-pop. Drawing influence from Nietzsche, Heidegger, and artists like Lana Del Rey, Jeff Buckley, and the Laurel Canyon era, Vox Rea creates emotionally charged music that balances intellect and vulnerability.

Since their debut in 2020 with “Dose Me Up,” the group has garnered over a million Spotify streams, featured on playlists like New Music Friday Canada and Indie Pop, and earned airplay on BBC Radio 6, CBC, and stations nationwide. Their breakout single “Damn (Unstuck)” topped Spotify’s Folk & Friends and was named one of its Top Folk Songs of 2021. Their music has also appeared in TV shows including Sweet Magnolias and Orphan Black.

Vox Rea’s captivating live performances have taken them across North America, the UK, and Europe, with appearances at The Great Escape, SXSW, Reeperbahn, and Treefort. With Art Oracles, they offer a poetic vision of transformation—embracing both the pain of letting go and the beauty of becoming.
