Introducing ShowHub’s Supportive Partnership Program

Apr 19, 2026

Community Partner Program

In our first year (2025), ShowHub introduced a Community Partner Program, providing increased visibility for participating organizations through linked logo placement, homepage features, social media highlights, and broader awareness. In return, partners provide sponsor recognition – both online and at their events.

This has created meaningful, mutually supportive relationships between ShowHub and established arts organizations that align with our mandate.

This program will continue, but is now limited to non-profit organizations. These partnerships require a meaningful investment of time and resources on our end, and it is not sustainable to offer them at no cost across the board. For ShowHub to remain viable, we also need to generate enough revenue to cover operating expenses.

Cost of the Platform

In 2025, ShowHub represented a total financial investment of $30,000. $20,000 was supported through Creative BC. The remainder was covered primarily by the two of us, along with a couple of small promotional campaigns and a few contributions from individual music supporters.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the platform, whether that’s through donations, sharing the site, or helping spread the word. That support genuinely matters, and it’s part of what has allowed ShowHub to grow.

At the same time, ShowHub is not funded by advertisers or subscriptions, and while community contributions received to date have been genuinely helpful and appreciated, they’re not enough to sustain the platform. Continuing to fund the project ourselves also isn’t sustainable long-term.

Operating expenses include hosting, domain, software, accounting, legal, licensing, insurance, advertising, marketing, outreach, transportation, and on-site presence. On top of that, there are hundreds of hours of unpaid labour involved – development, research, communications, writing and editing, grant writing, community partnership work, and the ongoing work of sourcing, compiling, and maintaining accurate event, venue, and artist data.

Supportive Partnerships

To support the platform and allow it to continue strengthening the local live music ecosystem, for-profit presenters and venues are invited to connect with us about our Supportive Partnership program. This tier offers enhanced visibility beyond the Community Partner Program, for a nominal fee per show listed.

Introductory pricing is $30 per show, available through 2026. After that point, pricing may be adjusted to reflect the additional work required for ticketed events compared to non-ticketed listings.

These contributions support the work involved in setting up and maintaining each partnership, while also helping to offset the monetary costs of running the platform.

In addition to increased visibility – with early partners seeing strong gains in engagement – supportive partners are publicly recognized as contributors to the local live music ecosystem. Their involvement helps elevate small venues and amplify local artists, both emerging and established, who benefit from free promotion through a centralized, accessible platform.

Welcoming our Founding Supportive Partners

We’re pleased to welcome our first Supportive Partners, who are helping to establish this program.

Live @ The Cambie and Port Moody JamZ have both come on board as early supporters – contributing not only to the visibility of their own programming, but to the continued growth and accessibility of the local live music scene through ShowHub.

Live @ The Cambie

Live @ The Cambie hosts a Roots & Rhythm Live Music Showcase every Sunday evening at The Cambie Pub in Gastown – featuring all your favourite local roots, blues, country, and rockabilly bands.

Port Moody JamZ

Port Moody JamZ is the presenter of a series featuring local, highly talented tribute acts. Currently presenting at Wings (Port Moody) and the Port Moody Legion, they always have their eyes out for more original and unique venues around the Lower Mainland, so keep an eye out for what comes next.

Listings for each of these artists can be found through the links above, as well as the dedicated buttons on our home page.
