ShowHub at Khatsahlano Wonderland
We did it! Whew – what a fantastic day!
As an official Media Partner of the Khatsahlano Wonderland Festival this year, our ShowHub team spent last Saturday on 4th Avenue, spreading the word about ShowHub and meeting countless members of Vancouver’s incredible arts community.
Although we were stationed at our booth for most of the day, we managed to catch a little music too! On the Macdonald Stage, we saw local favourites Brass Camel put on a live spectacle worthy of Barnum & Bailey, while on the Maple Stage Fionn played a packed pop-up show to legions of fans.
An honourable mention also goes to the Vancouver School of Rock house bands — even though some of them could barely reach their microphones, their professionalism and musical ability rivalled that of their full-grown counterparts. The Junior House Band was especially impressive! Unfortunately we couldn’t make it out to all our favourite acts (catch ya next time, Uncle Strut!), we’re sure we’ll get to see them play again sometime soon.
This weekend served as a beautiful reminder of why we started ShowHub in the first place: seeing the streets packed with music lovers from noon ’til night, Vancouver’s appetite for live music is clearly as strong as ever. With so much incredible talent in our local scene, we’re thrilled to play a part in connecting audiences with artists and the venues that support them.
See you next year, Khats!
Appreciation Area
Our thanks to Khatsahlano for collaborating with our team this year, to all the on-site workers who helped things run smoothly (shout out to Kyle who helped with our tent setup and escape route), and to Catherine and Bruce, our indispensable booth volunteers!
Special mention also goes to Luc who gave us the day, and helped haul all our gear out to the car 2 1/2 blocks away!
We’d also like to thank Creative BC, whose support made it possible for us to be part of this year’s festival. Their investment helps us connect directly with music fans, artists, venues, and the wider community while continuing to grow ShowHub as a resource for Vancouver’s live music scene.
Last but not least, we want to thank all of you who came by our booth to say hello, learn more, or offer an encouraging word about our services. ShowHub is a labour of love in support of our local music community, and it was amazing to hear that we’re making a difference. We received lots of great feedback and ideas, and we’ve got many more exciting things on the way for you all.
